Madden stripped down...No complications, but no substance.
Gameplay:
You get to choose between 4 plays on offense or defense, and you get powerups during the course of the game that spice things up and can sometimes blow the game open. Making sure its a competitive title, that anybody can play. It gets pretty stale when playing alone, but it gets quite enjoyable and fun when playing with others.

Graphics:
This game doesn't try too hard in the presentation department, basically your linemen are incredibly big and your receivers are extremely thin, but it all fits the game persona quite well. The field looks pretty decent, but the crowd..well..not good at all, some players don't even look the part and the sidelines are...empty??? what's up with that?

Not much in this department, but the tackling and player grunts sound the part.

Lasting Appeal:
You will get bored of it pretty fast if you play it alone, online is pretty good with fast match-making, and the local multiplayer is what really stands out and makes you come back for more.

Overall:
If Madden titles are too complicated (or too pricey) for you then this is the way to go. It has fun multiplayer and some nice powerups, but $14.99 is way too much of an asking price, this game is worth $7-$10 dollars maximum.
