Yeesh - for 1200 points, this is a train wreck.
The execution is fine because there's almost no game to speak of. It's boring, bland, flat....whatever you want to describe it, it's not fun and it wouldn't take much to make it great. They could include big hits, deliberate interference, more game changers, and...here's a novel idea - a FRANCHISE mode. Don't give me this "it's an arcade, what did you expect" argument. Most of my arcade games are significantly longer than this. A franchise mode simply tracks a string of games together, you give me a fancy, wacky animation when I win the super bowl and I'm 10 times happier. This is like going to a restaurant, being charged an extra $2.00 for fries that should have simply come with the burger without me needing to ask, then counting 12 fries on my plate when it comes. It's about the cheapest thing on the planet to make and it would make me REALLY happy if my plate were full of them. Just do it! EA continues to rely on it's license to lure in suckers like me to buy. Backbreaker - here I come! EA needs to put out something ambitious or just fold.
