This was probably the last honest upgrade of Madden...*short*

User Rating: 8.8 | Madden NFL 2005 PS2
...before EA started milking the franchise. With the hit stick and refinements on defense, 2005 was a good upgrade from 2004. There were still a couple of cheezy money plays that still worked its way around the franchise this time around but the game can hold well on its own. The really nice thing I liked about this year was the fact that there was a collector's edition that came with old-school Madden games. For those of you that purchased that version, I applaud you.

After the total acquisation of ESPN and NFL licenses, this looks to be EA's last year to have to work hard.

Madden 2005 will be known as the year where the franchise has reached its peak. Playmaker adjustments are much better this time around and the movements and animation are much more varied this time around. In addition, Mike Vick isn't as cheezy.

So for all you game collectors out there that really don't want to collect all the Maddens...just the good ones. Go after this version...especially the collector's version. It is worth the bargain price....if you can find it.

Thank God I got it during its debut.
