Am I the only one who feels ripped off?
But surely, so I thought, Madden 12 would be a much better game of football. But despite all it's flaws, I believe NCAA 12 is better than Madden 12.
Now let me say that I believe the Madden franchise has slowly gotten better over the last 5 years. Matter of fact, I felt like Madden 11 was almost a great game, if it wasn't for a broken zone defense that allowed people to just abuse the middle of the field at will.
So where do I begin to list Madden 12 flaws? Well, how 'bout that great presentation! Well, EA got 2 things exactly right. The look-in view of each stadium is awesome, as well as when they pull the camera back to show the offensive and defensive starting lineups. But that's where great presentation ends. Here we go: 1. Last I checked, a starting lineup for a team consisted of 11 players, not two. 2. The game uses the same camera angles for it's replays over and over again. For instance, a catch by a reciever is always shown by following the reciever on his route. Every time. 3. If you get an animation where the ref signals catch or no catch, you don't even get a replay. Vice versa, I've seen a replay of the victory formation at the end of a game. Way to go, EA! 4. At halftime, not only isn't there a halftime show, but you don't even see stats for the half. 5. The Player of the Game is completely broken. It always goes to the wrong player. 6. EA did away with "The Extra Point" show, which wasn't great but it was better than nothing. 7. On the gameplay side, linebackers jump 10 feet in the air, corners magically intercept the ball even though their head was turned as you threw the ball, the running game is hot and cold, no in between, the 5 min quarter now seems too short, and way too many players are identified as Number 15! Oh, and the commentary sucks.
I could go on, but I'll stop here. Bottom line: Madden 12 is the worst(and most flawed) game in the series since Madden 06. It's time gamers AND REVIEW CRITICS, stand up and say we won't buy this garbage anymore. It's 2011, and EA has no justification for putting this kind of game on the market and pretending it's revolutionary. GAMERS UNITE!!
