A very complete Madden package for anyone

User Rating: 8.5 | Madden NFL 12 WII
Pros:
-Effective graphics... Makes good use of the Wii's hardware to show good details while letting the player clearly see who's big and who's not.
-Lots of control options.... Play with the Wii Remote vertically or horizontally (for a very old-school experience), with the Nun-Chuck or with the Classic Controler or Classic Controller Pro (for a very 360/PS3-like experience).
-The achievements and reward/trophy rooms are an excellent, NFL 2k5ish addition... The rewards add longevity and variables to the gameplay.
-The same wide assortment of Wii-specific gameplay modes... There are multiple modes here for any type of Madden player. Though it doesn't have the depth of the PS3/360 Franchise, nor does it have all the online features or Superstar mode.

Neutral:
-The Situation mode has been merged with the mini-games... In addition to completing mini-game challenges on Rookie, Pro, All-Pro and All-Madden there's now a real game challenge to accompany it.
-The music is fine... Some rap, some hip-hop, some electronic, some rock/metal, classic NFL music, etc.
-Free agent bidding is cool, but sort of canned.

Cons:
-No "protect ball" button... That was an important button for the running game.
-The audio, and the commentators in particular, need a serious upgrade... The cohesion of the conversation in the game is non-existent. Generic comments are everywhere and it sounds very stale. Also, the audio jumps during mini-games when you switch from gameplay to menu, it's noticeable when you're just chilling playing through mini-games.

Overall:
This is a good game for almost anyone. I like digging into the game, playing through Franchise, filling up the reward/trophy room, playing online and goofing around playing co-op with friends. I also like being able to have my young and old family members join in and play. And what's awesome is this game has PLENTY of options no matter who I'm playing with.

If you played Madden 11 on Wii, you probably don't need this. If you played Madden 11 on 360/PS3 than this one might be worth your time. It's definitely different from the other versions and arguably better with offline multiplayer. Personally, barring a few minor gripes, I'm very satisfied.
