Madden is Madden but where's the innovation, EA?

I've bought every single years Madden series since 2002. Throughout those years there have been several Madden's that have had significant roles in developing Madden into 'the best football game nowadays'. However I feel as though the Madden series have just hit a brick wall in the innovation department several years ago, dating back to Madden 2006 (Donovan McNabb cover). Honestly, not much has changed since Madden debuted with the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. In Madden 2005, the 'truck stick' and 'highlight stick' were introduced and have changed the game ever since. There have been no major gameplay changes of any severity to the chain of Madden's over the past 5 games, and it really is getting ridiculous. The awful, idiotic A.I., the ignorant players online, lack of innovation. Madden is cursing itself rather than any player in the NFL at this point. TO BE COMPLETELY HONEST... THERE IS ALMOST NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MADDEN 10 and MADDEN 11, except for the rosters and ratings. Seriously... its ridiculous for a big company such as EA-Sports to be repackaging the same game with a new cover year after year. The lack of innovation is probably due to the lack of competition, since EA has an exclusive license with the NFL... :(
