Madden 10 still carries the same flaws as previous Maddens and not enough balance in the gameplay..

User Rating: 6.5 | Madden NFL 10 X360
Madden 10 is a good football game, and physically the most realistic one to date. But there's too many flaws in the gameplay that hinder the game's ambition. EA did a great job with creating a new tackle system for Madden and it works great. Passes come out of the QB's hands more realistically, running feels just right and the slower gameplay overall does make for a more realistic Madden hands down. That's not to say there aren't continuing flaws in the gameplay that is holding the series back.

QB accuracy- This is a major flaw in the game. Your QB will still not throw the ball correctly over the WR's, throwing on the run is as hard as ever, and curl routes are broken. If you even a sligthly below average accuracy QB, your QB will make some of the most horribly thrown balls seen in a game to date. They won't try to sail the ball to the WR on the run or on fade routes, they won't make accurate sideline throws, and they will certainly throw many INT's after getting hit in the pocket(which happens far too often). Curl routes are broken, no matter how good of timing you have on the throw to the WR, when he turns around, the ball usually sails to the right or left of the WR, sometimes even 5 yards off, and resulting in an INT..the only thing that is going to prevent you from experiencing most of these QB accuracy problems is having a good, accurate QB, but we all know those of you will probably not play with great QB's on your favorite team.

Wide receivers don't do a good enough job trying to jump for the ball in the game still..WR's will still never make a sideline grab and your RB's and TE's will continue to run out of bounds of flats...

Defensively, you are going to still experience the unstoppable CPU when they decide it's time to pass all over you. Your defensive lineman will stick to the offensive lineman and let the CPU sit back and pass all over you.

The game does feature some great gameplay elements, such as a better kicking game...more ways to fight for the yard..and fantastic tackle animations. Still, the obvious flaws in the gameplay really bring it down.

Features- The game offers the same things as previous year, while also taking out some. Superstar is the same thing, and still dumb. Franchise mode has been revamped though with a new player rating system and progress system. The rating system isn't for the better though, because some players are rated way too far down and the results show on the field. EA tried too hard with trying to separate the good players from the great players. Tackle stat tracking has also been broken, because Madden will not combine Solo tackles and assist tackles together, otherwise resulting in very low tackle stats for each player compared to the rest of the league. Online franchise is a plus though, and it works better than some would think with great commissioner tools and a fun experience for groups of NFL fans.

Presentation, commentary is horrible, too many cutscenes, halftime show sucks and is annoying, and the default sound settings are far too low. Need I say more? Well I will, because the graphics are the best we've seen in a Madden game and the post game show is pretty good and there's also the "extra point" weekly recaps.
The gameplay overall, IS better, but it's not without several, and I mean several continuing problems and this is a real dissapointment. Franchise is mode is a lot better even if does have an odd rating system because of the presentation elements to the mode. It's a major letdown that the game continues to have sucky WR's, as well as some inbalances in the gameplay, combined with crappy AI, and also introducing bad QB accuracy.
