Madden 08 is a great game that incorporates all the fantastic features from previous titles such as 06 and 07, including Superstar and Franchise mode, and a new Fantasy Challenge mode. The team rosters have all been updated accordingly for the 07 season and the number of possibilities is even greater than before. You can now use a draft pick in the Superstar mode instead of being forced to create your own (even if it's more fun to create) and this adds to the playability of the game. New moves on defense such as the high or low tackles are nothing special but help add to the already deep gameplay. The Superstar mode however seems just like last year's release even with the draft pick availability, mainly because all of the scheduling, roster management, and movie offers have been recycled into this years game. So overall it feels like you're replaying last season. Franchise is still sweet but almost the same again, and the creating features have been improved slightly. Gameplay still impresses and online is still a challenge to anyone who needs one at any given time. The new skill drills are fun and interesting in that you are often going up against robotic hitting bags that move as a human player would, scary in a way, but fun. The most addicting feature that has returned is still Chase and Tackle, or Rush Attack as it's now called. You can go head to head with a friend via 2-player or take it online for a cool matchup that at the same time helps you warm up for actual games. The music isn't quite as good as last year but it still keeps you playing the game with enthusiasm because a majority of the songs make you want to go to the system settings and just leave it on to play. Personally, 2-player is the most fun feature because it incorporates skill and cooperation with a friend. When you succeed with a score, it feels good and you appreciate the game for what it truly is, a football game that tries hard to bring you extras when all we really need is a ballcarrier and the Hit Stick 2.0. =)

Only a slight upgrade to Madden 07. This game was obviously rushed. My defensive play book is exactly the same and I only got 1 new formation on offense. They didn't even take the time to make the linemen fat. Ted Washin... Read Full Review
