Another year of mediocre adjustments to the same old junker...

I loved Madden 2004... I loved ESPN NFL 2k5... and I loved NCAA 2k6. Each year I normally have one football game that i play alot more than the rest. Sadly i know this year is not going to be all about Madden 07 for me.

To be honest if you've played this game recently (one of the past few versions) then your probably hopeful, yet greatly dissapointed at the fools gold that EA produced this year. Adding two new "gameplay defining" tools (Lead blocking and the Highlight Stick) Madden 2007 should have the best running game around. However my hope of me playing the sports game of the year quickly faded away as you realized that I was just playing a half-assed pro version of NCAA 2007.

I'm not saying that Madden is a bad game, however Madden lacks a sense of momentum in the running game, excitement on the field, and perhaps a sensible behind the back camera to boot. I would explain alot more in depth but when a sports game makes me think back to the good old days, there is something seriously wrong.

So simply I'm going to say and wonder three things. 1. Highlight Stick? (Isn't all of this the same we already had just turned into something that everyone can understand?) 2. Superstar mode? (Apparently the best players ever had teams that never made mistakes. Because why is my superstar LB roasted for things I could never control, like passes my CBs fail to knock down?) 3. NCAA 07? (Jumping the line, Stadium pulse, RB Inertia, Impact Players? Madden steals the kicking meter and not anything else that would probably make it a more full fleshed, finished, and fun game to play?)

Hopefully, if you've played Madden this year, you did not pay for it. People should not have to pay to play just a roster adjustment and a game that isn't even comparable to its college counterpart anymore. Highlight Stick? Lead Blocking? All that noise is anymore is just noise, play games that are made to respect and glorify the game we all know and love.
