One of the dullest open world games I have ever played.

Might as well say.....MEDIOCRE!

- The storyline is short and unexciting with some blatantly uninteresting characters. Sure it has some great action scenes, but lacks anything that made first movie trilogy so unique. As a matter of fact if they changed the game title and protagonist's name, it makes absolutely NO difference.

-The car chases and races are fun for the first few hours.

-The rest is just.....grinding.....pure.....unrewarding....grinding. As a matter of fact I was OVERWHELMED by how big this deserted land of nothingness is, and how many times I'm gonnna have to do the same scrap over and over again. One can argue that ANY Open world game is like this, but when you take away interesting landscapes that are worth exploring (Like Witcher 3 or Assassin's Creed), side quests with actual variety, freedom to approach those said quests the way you want with multiple weapons, powers and equipment, (just a shotgun? Really?!) then all you're left with is a long checklist of shit to do and be rewarded with literal scrap. So you can use that scrap to upgrade the character & car and repeat that same checklist.

-And then there's the poor man version of Arkham Games melee Combat System. Shadow of Modor got some heavy inspirations from Arkham too, but at least it brought its own flare to it. Max on the other hand is just tedious cycle of attack and parry with some decent finishers in between.

- While looking beyond the tedious gameplay, Graphics are absolutely stunning, and truly present itself as a Current-Gen game. It also has a well optimized PC port; a factor that should be expected from ANY game but given the track record of PC Port Wrecks we have received recently, a well made one needs to be praised.

I think the biggest problem with this game is that it's open world game in the first place. What can a developer really do when all they have to work with is a literal wasteland. It could have been much more solid game if they instead focused on story and action either as linear missions or a limited hub-like world with side quests. OR GO FULL RPG.

In Conclusion if you're looking to eat time while roaming around a map, killing people and doing the same repetitive tasks, this game is as good as any other open world ones. But if you're expecting a story, lore, characters, unique gameplay, you would have better luck searching for water in the wastelands.....
