Among the 'good' crowd
The game is what it is:A fighting game.Midway were able to implement various game elements,egInteractive arenas, and they did a very good job.
The game also has fatalities, which are awesome to say the least.
Tha character roster is your typical fighting game roster,a man with swords,a girl with blades, etc.Another interesting(and rather hilarious)addition to the fighting roster is a chicken(yes,a chicken),who can dish out a dose of punishment as well.
Now,on to the attributes:
Graphicwise-This game delivered,it looked SUPERB at that time, and still looks superb today. It looks THAT good.
Sound-It has a rather meh-ish sound+music system,good,but not ear candy.
Gameplay-It handles well, each characters item handles smoothly, the fatalities are well executed, the game progresses at a good speed. The main problem is the difficulty,at times the computer can be horribly unforgiving.
This game is one to keep, not the best(MK takes the cake and eats it),but if you're interested in revisiting the old N64 days and want a good ol beat em up apart from MK,Mace the Dark Age will get the job done.
