Soccer Manager demo takes field

Free trial of soccer coaching comes in two flavors for PC, Mac--bare-bones "vanilla" sample and multiple league "strawberry."

Gamers who are questioning the decisions of club managers in the English Premiere League can now take their turns running a soccer team, at least on a virtual circuit. The demo for Soccer Manager 2007 (known as Football Manager 2007 in Europe) is now available for PCs and Macs. Publisher Sega is delivering the demo in a pair of options, a "vanilla" version that is 80MB in size and includes only the English League and no kits, photos, or sounds, and a "strawberry" version (PC edition available from GameSpot) that is 260MB in size and features more leagues, player photos, audio, and enhanced graphics. The full retail game is scheduled to be released later this month.

FallenAngel, you're right, but don't criticize Americans, you might get modded. I'm Canadian, though.

in my opinion wining eleven is better, but ill give it a try.

Oh. My. God. Typical North American ignorance speaks again. How in the world can you compare a soccer video game with a soccer management simulation? Jeez kid, either make an educated statement, or don't speak at all. I love both WE and FM, but would never compare the two. WE isn't BETTER than FM, just as FM isn't BETTER than WE. Their two different genres of games dealing with the same sport. Plus, FM is for hardcore fans of the world game, people who actually follow the game ardently, and can name ten soccer clubs not named Real Madrid, Chelsea, Barcelona, or Man United. WE can ever be enjoyed by casual gamers with little to no interest in the actual global sport.

PS: nhlkoho, you're a flaming troll. Go back to playing FIFA 2006 in easy with the offsides turned off.

    awesome.

I'd have to say that FM is probably the best of Sports Interactive's sims. I like Eastside Hockey Manager more though as I'm an avid hockey fan. I'll try this year's FM demo though.
