This is the type of puzzle game that you pull out when you have fifteen minutes or so of time to waste.

Maybe this isn't the best puzzle game in the PSP bag, but is a quick (and admittedly sometimes frustrating) way to fill in time if your waiting (riding) the bus or at the doctor's office and such. The learning curve is almost non-existant and the fun level may be a bit low at times...especially at some of the frustrating higher levels...but Luxor does manage to have that "just one more time, I can do better" quality to it that makes it a pleasantly addictive experience.

The gameplay of busting up (not-to rapidly) moving lines of colored balls goes from two or three sets to a sometimes overwhelming four or five and some of the levels are a bit complex, especially the one where the balls come from both sides of the screen. The various powerups add a nice touch as does the ability to switch the ball color (one of two: color "A" or color "B"). As mentioned above, some of the levels tend to get a bit complex. On the subject of levels: the playing fields do tend to repeat so you'll find yourself playing the same map on several levels, usually at a faster rate and with more balls to eliminate. This is fine on a map that you like, but if it's one you hate then obviously you're going to cry and swear a lot!

Overall, a bit of mindless fun and a nice way to spend a few minutes. Lumines and Lumines II are much better and (more addictive) games in the puzzle category, but Luxor is not a bad buy for the price.
