LostWinds is a platform/adventure game, that is truly a one of a kind game within it's own right. LostWinds is a classic platforming game. Each level design is linear, but balanced with puzzles to solve. LostWinds is a game that is both daring for the genre, and the Wii console, as it maniuplates the genre with depth, and the Wii with arguably the most innovative gameplay for the system yet.

LostWinds' plot is exceuted very well with a true cinematic push that makes it's slightly cliche storyline relatively enjoyable. The plot of LostWinds follows the storyline of a young imp boy named Toku, obtained with a special weapon in order to save his homeland from the evil Balasar. Toku is accompanied by a guide of the wind elemental named Enril, similar to Link's guides from the Zelda series such as Navi, and tries to find out how to save Toku's world. The storyline in LostWinds is slightly dated, and sadly for that reason predictable. LostWinds takes no chances in telling a story that is new, or doesn't try to tell a story that feels fresh. However, that being said, LostWinds pushes it's seemingly bland and simple storyline into a cinematic focus, and the simplicity of the storyline is easily forgiving. LostWinds adds such charm characters like Toku, the game will certainly suck you in unlike any other platformers before it.

The gameplay in LostWinds is what makes the game shine. LostWinds requires you to aim your cursor with the Wii Remote Toku left or right, forward or backward in whatever direction. LostWinds also requires you to hold the cursor down in order to get to a platform higher. LostWinds controls flawlessly. Each control is set up with depth, and a lot of thought is required in order how to control Toku in certain spots of the game. The control scheme in LostWinds is acessible in every level, and sets a great standard for the upcoming sequel.

The soundtrack to LostWinds is simple, but highly relaxing and truly matches the look and feel of the game immensley well. LostWinds contains a soundtrack that is relaxing and peaceful, and manages to retain the game's cinematic quality.

Overall, LostWinds is a graphically sharp and generally very well done game. It controls like a charm, and has production values that soar fly high. LostWinds is a little gem, that is deep and a relaxing venture gaming world.
