funny, capcom designed something like this again in 2012 and kevin Van of Ord gave it 4.5 stamp straight at its face. Its RE6.
Funny you should call him that, when "van Ord" already means "of Ord", in dutch. It's just like the "von" in german and the "de", "da" and "do" in french, italian, portuguese and spanish.
have persons more hard to kill as them? 10 shots and no kill is normal? i like the game but is bad to multiplayer
game is good but.. not for me, ai can be stupid most of the time, mostly just liked fighting the big bosses
1 Like I'm near the end of this game and I can tell you that its been a fun experience. I think the thing about this game that irritated Kevin is that it doesn't do a whole lot of hand holding like so many other games this generation does (especially with the boss fights). You actually have figure out where to go, what strategy to use to take down a boss, and get this...its actually challenging! Dun dun duuuuun...
I think its not the best game but not as bad as it looks. I think it should have gotten a 7.5 Because your fighting monsters that can pretty much kill you in a heart beat but make you invincible. And ya games are gonna have its flaws but that's a game. There is no such thing as a perfect game. Theres a bug somewhere.
This reviewer mentions that the level design is abysmal and shows a clip of the train level where he drove a VS in front of a giant cannon, what do you expect Kevin? of course it's gonna shoot you and throw you out of the train! And the Giant Akrid that he shows when he talks about the knockbacks he shows a clip when he gets thrown out of the train , but hey you're fighting with a huge monster that can eat an entire train so,what do you expect if it get crashed against the train that you're in? And when he says that the games is big in knockback he shows another clip fighting with a giant akrid where all he does is stand doing nothing just waiting for the akrid to hit him, he doesn't even made an effort to avoid the akrid attack (in this game you can avoid the attacks from all akrid it's just a matter of ability). This game for me is one of the greatest games of all times and about the difficulty, yes the enemies can be quite dumb if you play it in normal difficulty but once you beat the game, the extreme difficulty is unlocked and that's a real challenge.
The cannon didn't shoot until he was stuck in the mech's landing animation. You can't cancel out any action-based animation in this game.
Me and my friend rented this game for 2 player co-op...big mistake the screen is split in to quarters for co-op 2 player...WTF!?!
they have no idea what theyre talkin about. this game is awesome. its basically halo mixed with monster hunter. and even though monster hunter sucks something horrible this game still kicks ass.
man this game was better than most of the games you guys like. i hate watching the reviews, they always give good games bad reviews..
@walkecla i agree i loved the train level and the ai worked fine for me. it could have been better but thats what you get for not having friends
The train sequence is definitely one of my favorite levels especially when playing with friends
Hmm... I play demo on PS3 and this is absolutely great for me. Level no2 (in demo) is brilliant. Dont know what to think about this game after wathced review video. Do you know games similar to Lost Planet 2?
You know, I rarely watch reviews on GameSpot, and every time I do, the same thing comes to mind. Maybe it's just me, but.... Why does this guy sound like a huuuuuuuge douchebag?
Watched again. Wow he sounds mad. Kinda like a noob screaming "hax!"... I guess the devs didn't hold his hand enough.
Seriously Gamespot, are you guys scared to admit you sucked in Lost Planet 2? Give me FACTUAL evidence why Lost Planet 2 sucks, and learn that not everyone is a biased fat ass like you Kevin and Venom_Raptor, play Lost Planet 2 first, GTA 4 had the same thing but no one complains about it.
Kevin nailed the review, long animations that result in cheap deaths are just not wanted in games that cause you to get frustrated.
Played it on the Hard dificult, got a A- and S-rank on all the mission. To say its frustrating means your doing it wrong.
Once again Gamespot is giving a much lower score than the game actually deserves. They need to use people who know what they are talking about and know how to play games. There is something wrong when gamespot gives it a 5.5 and users and other critics are giving it around a 7 and 7.5. Way off in their review!
Basically, this guy sound p***ed of about this game like he had a bad experience when playing solo. (maybe even high? -_-) I really don't think it looks that bad but he is determined to present it as a failure in game design...
terrible review, i played lost lost planet 2 and the game is not as hard as kevin put it, he actually sucked in the game on purpose since he stood in the worst spots during battle for 5 seconds, give it a rent, then buy it if its good.
he seems angry while talking about the game! i think he loved the first one but he got mad when the second one sucked but i dont think the game deserves 5.5 it's at least 7.0
Game is born for eastern gamers...orange cubes droping down from beasts...useless hook...only thing i liked was huge machine gun and heavy egzoskeleton...map is useless too.
Just rented this game for X360, good game, and I dont see no reasons to complain. Very few knockbacks, nothing tough about the game, all in all I thought is was a smooth and great game... Cant see any reasons for that 5.5 score, perhaps they were totally rubbish at playing the game. Flaws they say, what flaws. Worth the resnt, for sure.
Watching My Friend On The PS3 Version Now, Not Once Has It Stalled For a second like he mentions in this review, its not bad the game if you liked the 1st then its worth a rent or purchase pre-owned. If this was created on the PS3 and 360 properly and Capcom wasnt so tight with money they could have used the sub cores in each consoles CPU to control the A.I I reckon it would have been a bit better but co-op is what this game is for mainly with friends guranteed it can be annnoying getting hit and having to wait 5secs to get up but it's CO-OP and each gaming console is lacking co-op games nowadays.
I love this game and I hate this game! The good: The graphics are sooo nice, atmospheric so it's almost magic. The RPG elements are not perfect in any way but it's quite fun. Very nice sound and the music is good. The bad: The controls should win a price for the worst and the most frustrating EVER! Some moments are embarrassing like the 1-2 boss fight - W T F! You've got nowhere to hide, you can't dodge and the boss always only goes for the host of the game. AI? There are none! I really want to like it and I think that's why I still play it. And the design. It's like I'm still waiting for the game I wanted it to be.
A big disapointment n my book.. I personally feel like it was a waist of programing time to put 2 buttons for 90 degree turnin, one could've been for a more well balanced sprint function that actually appears to get u some where and the other could've been used for a active reload not an analog stick, plus there should've have been a dive roll button not a button combination. Frm the first game there should've been a change n the grappling hook to where it could b used more than once n the air like how its used n Bionic Commando. And the campaign was too movie arcade-ish w/ the "Get Ready, GO!" should've been cutscene transitions and the missions were far too short w/ dumbfounded AI. Also the character custimization should've been way more n depth.. And it should not take so much to kill an enemy. Jus my personal thought hope the next one is way better and u learn frm mistakes
You have to be the worst games reviewer ever because your so bad at games go back and play world of warcraft!! Ok you can make a faild point but your word is the rating lost planet 2 got, if i had know that the train lvl was the best lvl in the game !!
Drano5050: pal i have this game and it's amazing, i had play it for over 90 hours and i still can't get enough, i recommend you this game , and i think you're right, gamespot seems to have some issues against capcom.
this guy sucks at giving reviews if he doesnt like the game its bad if someone else does and tells him.....its still bad
