A game mixed with stunning visuals, a deep storyline and relatable characters, a diamond who's flaws are limited...

User Rating: 8.5 | Lost Odyssey X360
This game begins with one of the most stunning cut scenes I've ever seen, though unfortunately I haven't seen as good an animation since I have been playing the game, though I do have a long way to the end. You see two nations battling it out, one called Uhra and the other Gohtza. They bring in huge contraptions that perform a very simple action that could be done in a much easier and more convenient way in true final fantasy style, until their little bout of fisticuffs gets broken up by ( No, not their mothers as I'm sure you are all thinking) but by a giant meteorite that seems to have been soaked in lava like a toffee apple. Don't you just love the things that are possible in these sorts of games. Everyone dies, as would be expected, except for two people...the main character being one, a Mr Kaim Argonar and the other another playable character a Miss Seth Balmore, who turn out to be...wait for it...Immortal. Also, both have lost their memories. And so the game begins.
Ok, time to deal with the bigger issues,

GAMEPLAY: Ok, gameplay wise this game seems pretty solid. Its combat system is innovative and is easy to get a handle on even if you aren't used to these kinds of games...(RPG's for those who are game-nameably challenged) and traversing the world is quite fun. 8.5

VISUALS: Visuals are, for me, amazing in this game. Yes, like any game there are area's where it is a bit more shabbily put together but on a whole, its a beautiful game. The scenery, the architecture is beautiful, and for all intents and purposes, the picture is clear and crisp. 9.0

SOUND: Sounds are wonderful in this game. Sound effects and background music is beautiful, the only issue I have with the sound is the voice-overs. Although you can hear every word clearly, it just doesn't seem to be acted that well. Jansen is probably the best but everyone elses performances seem to be quite bland. 6.0

STORYLINE: The story is amazingly deep and immersive. Although I'm only at the beginning of Disc 2, it has thrown so many curve balls at me I just can't stop playing. This game, like most RPG's is like a novel, and the story just keeps unfolding in new and wonderful ways. 9.5

OVERALL: This game is, as I have said in the review deck, a diamond with limited flaws, though that means it still has some, one of which is the length of the disks. Oblivion has over 100 hours of content on one disc, while I completed disc one in 10 hours. Its very disappointing, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying every moment of it. This is a game that once you get involved with it, nothing can stop you having one of the most emotionally connected gaming experiences of your life. 8.5
