- "Just plain fun"
Lollipop Chainsaw was a game I thought sounded completely ridiculous, but was actually a fun, enjoyable experience. A cheerleader,Juliet Starling,(who is secretly a zombie hunter) with her disembodied head of a boyfriend, Nick, and chainsaw, are forced to fight hoards of zombies in order to save her town from complete destruction. Zombie hunting runs in the family, as Juliet is assisted by her two sisters and father from time to time. The action is cool, and fast paced. You buy different combos for Juliet to perform, and can also use "Nick Cards" that use you're boyfriends head to do a special attack, (Example: Using it as a soccerball). Juliet has a type of "ultimate mode" which is called "Sparkle Hunting" where her chainsaw glows, peppy music plays in the background, and Juliet can take out most zombie grunts with one hit. This mode only lasts for about ten seconds, but its a good way of killing zombies quick. There are 6 different bosses that you must defeat in order to wipe out the zombie population. The graphics are great, the controls are easy to use, and the voice acting and music are awesome. Now, Lollipop Chainsaw is rated M for a reason. Besides ripping apart zombies with a chainsaw, there is also a lot of swearing and talk of sexual actions/things. Putting the language aside, I thought this game was great. And even though the game is a story about a cheerleader jumping around slashing zombies with a chainsaw while talking to head attached to her waist, its definitely a game you should pick up.
