LMA Manager is a game that is quite easy to get used to and it helps if you have never played a manager before. You can play as teams from all over the world but not international. English leagues go from the premiership all the way down to the conference and other places like Germany have lower leagues that you can play in to challenge yourself. Every team you play has a certain goal that you must achieve like in the premiership Chelsea must qualify for the european cup and Watford must avoid relegation. You can start with all the player the team had at the start of the season by using start of season stats which includes players that they have loaned out from other clubs. You can use your staff to your advantage to select if you want them to do the player and team training or if you want to do it and at the start of each season you can sack staff and employ new staff but if you do this after that then you will have to pay a compensation payment it is only around 1000-2000 in cash and conference teams start off with 250,000 so dont be worried about this. Training your team gives them advantage for them to work better as a team and for players to get better individually. You can set your own custom tactics using a range of formations and you can set exactly were you want each player to be so that you can work on different formation constantly so that you can choose the best one that works for your team. There is also building things like better training grounds of which there are 5 and each one with more to them. A conference team would start of with a basic training ground and a premiership team would start with a training ground that is one below the best. Aside from building a training ground you can also build a stadium and use your budget to change stands to make them take more capacity or let your commercial manager do this. The commercial manager also can pick shirt and stadium sponsors or you can choose to do this yourself by choosing if your staff should do or not do a certain task. You also get the realistic transfer window that opens and closes but you can still buy players but they will not come in until the transfer winow opens again. When you have set your training and what you want staff to do etc there is pre-season friendlies were you have 3 and can change them from a given list at the start of the season and can play friendlies against other clubs. Shortly after completing pre-season friendlies then you get right into the season and you can watch matches and use dugout options to shout at your team to change into a set formation so you could have 5-4-1 set for defensive. You can change your tactics before each match and you can set roles for your players such as who will be the captain and L/R free kick taker. There are also attributes that show if your player has a special ability for taking corners, free kicks etc which is shown by a picture in there stats. It also shows there overall and rating etc. Then you have the youth team were you can take them out and put them into your full squad if you wish or you can leave them in the youth team to progress and eventually they will get contracted by other clubs. You can not watch your youth team matches but before you play a match with your full team you get emails in your inbox for the score of your youth team versus the other sides youth team. When you watch the match the graphics are not all that good but you can change the view you are looking from to see the player closer or focus on one player or on the ball so you get the full action. You get to play all the cups and have to get qualifying places and go through group stages to play through and win the cups. If you have done quite well in a month you might pick up the manager of the month award which goes towards your CV which shows what team you have been to and how well youve done including cups you have won with them etc to show how good you are as a manager. There is also a managerial rating and squad rating so you know who has the better squad and who is the better manager when you play other teams. Apart from playing single player you can play 2 player aswell so that you and another player takes it in turns to do different days and play matches one after the other. This does take long but it can be quite good when you and a friend are battling at top of the same league and playing finals against each other in cups which makes you get the hype out of the game. The game is worth playing and gets you used to manager games so get LMA Manager 07 because there aint going to be an LMA Manager 08.
