It's one of the hardest games I have ever played, but surprisingly it is also one the greatest racing game in my view.

I have played many racing games like Midtown Madness, Need for Speed Underground 2, Need for Speed Most Wanted, etc, and I have enjoyed them a lot. They are enjoyable, simple and open minded games. You have lots of cars to choose from which are really fast and are simple to control. After playing and completing these games, I thought that I was good in racing games, but suddenly came the horrifying truth 'Live For Speed' which told me 'You are nowhere good in racing games, son.'

When you first hear the name of this game 'Live For Speed', it gives you a thought that the game is inspired by NFS, but it is actually inspired by NASCAR Rally and Collin McRally. Developed by mainly a 3 man team, the developers must be given a pat on their back for making a game that's great in visuals and gameplay. I must say however that this is the toughest game I have played till now. It is so hard during races that sometimes you feel like kicking your computer and throwing your keyboard. The races become very irritating at these times. Furthermore, it becomes more irritating when you race against your opponents during your training lessons, when you have to overtake at least one opponent out of three without having a collision with the other cars. This is the most challenging and also the most irritating component in the game. What's a racing game where you are not allowed to crash into another's car? If you collide with another car, but also at the same time complete the training lesson, then also you won't be able to access the next lesson. But to our rescue, this restriction is uplifted in the main single player races. Also, handling a car during a turn is also very difficult. Unlike other games, where you could easily turn your car on a sharp turn at high speed at most occasions, doing the same here would cause your car to skid very badly, causing the other racers to overtake you and once the A.I drivers overtake you, it's hard to overtake them because the A.I drivers are excellent. The menu is not the best I've seen. It is very complicated when you open the game for the first time and when you open the options menu in the game. Perhaps, the best part of the game has to be its graphics. It's simply awesome. The tracks are also excellent and it has to be given some points for its challenging gameplay. The cars look very neat and clean and also very pleasing to the eye. But the car engines do not sound very special. An interesting addition in the game are the training lessons. They are quite entertaining and helpful if you really need to master the game in every aspect. But mind you that the races here are extremely difficult and will test your patience and determination.

Since I am actually reviewing a demo version of the game, there will be only a few features to talk about. There are 18 training lessons to do out of which three are pure races. Then there is just 1 single player race to play, with only 3 available cars. The multiplayer component is locked. There's not much to talk about the features available in the demo version.

In the end, the only thing that I could say is that if you are a master of racing games, try this one and report me back. I would give you 5000 Rs. for sure. But whatever the downside of the game is, I would say that this is one of the best racing games I've ever played. It may be very tough and irritating, but once you get used to it, you will have a great experience playing it.
