ith more than 7 million active worldwide subscribers, World of Warcraft continues to be a phenomenon. A lot's changed in the land of Azeroth since we at GameSpot named World of Warcraft our 2004 Game of the Year, but only now is developer Blizzard Entertainment readying a full-on retail expansion pack, The Burning Crusade. Though this expansion won't be released till next year, we're fortunate to have access to a closed beta test of the work in progress. And we thought we'd share the experience with you as directly as we could, short of sending you our logins and passwords. Now that'd just be crazy.

The Live Broadcast is Over! Stay Tuned for Highlights!

What: GameSpot's Live Gameplay Marathon - World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade
When: Saturday, October 28 at 11 a.m. PDT
Where: Right here on this page
Who: GameSpot's Justin Calvert, Greg Kasavin, Bethany Massimilla,
and You!

How: You need to be a GameSpot subscriber to watch the broadcast. Registered users may watch a five-minute preview.

Be here on Saturday, October 28 at 11 a.m. PDT for a one-time-only event: GameSpot's Live Eight-Hour Gameplay Marathon of World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade, exclusively for GameSpot subscribers. In it, we'll bring you a firsthand, in-depth look at what to expect from this ambitious upgrade to the world's most popular online role-playing game.

Besides just tuning in to watch the feed, subscribers will also be able to engage in a real-time text chat, as well as send in their questions to our marathon team, who will be responding to as many as they can in their eternal quest for more loot and experience points. Next week, a highlights video cut from the eight-hour marathon will be posted here and available to everyone.

Subscribers will also earn a unique Burning Crusader emblem in their profiles for watching the broadcast (please note the emblem will not be awarded from watching the free five-minute preview).

Think about it this game has over 120 seperate servers. Those do not come cheap and neither does the support staff needed to run, update and maintain them. 15 dollars a month is nothing. Its change. If you cant afford 15 dollars a month you should seriously consider another line of work.

you pay the 15 dollars so that the game doesn't get dull and boring by the time u reach level 10. when you think about how popular the game is, Blizzard could easily raise the the monthly fee and people would still log on.

To the people that want this to be free, please go to work all day tomorrow and tell me how much fun you had ,better yet do it for a month! im so glad this game has a subscription fee, because if it didnt every kid in america would be playing it ,,,THANK GOD.. I would like to see it go up to $19.00 a month so the kids that play it now would have to get jobs and stop runing my game experience! get a console haters!

We pay the 15 dollars a month so that blizzard can continue to update the information and come out with expansion packs like this.
