I bought Little Big Planet for twenty-five bucks, and the instant I started playing it, I knew it was worth the twenty-five. You play as the lovable and adorable Sackboy, who goes on an incredible journey that will take you all across the Little Big Planet world. The story is pretty good, and the environments are varied, ranging from an African forest to a frozen tundra that will have you sliding across the ice like your on wheels. The levels are creative and witty, although they aren't that tough to beat. The story can be completed within a day, but there are many collectibles and prizes scattered across the levels to keep to coming back for more after you completed the story. The bonus levels are fun, but most of them you beat and then forget you ever played them. The characters that you run into aren't exactly...lively. They act like puppets with strings attached to their arms and legs, and they really don't say anything. They mouth moves and you have to read what they say in a comic book style blurb while they murmur away like psychotic morons. The customization of your character is awesome. You can use some of the things that you collect in levels to put on your characters, and you can spend ten to fifteen minutes mindlessly dressing up your sackboy. Now for the best part in the game. The My Moon mode. In this game mode, you have you very own little planet to create levels from scratch. This is where Little Big Planet is at its best. There are no limits to your creativity, and you'll find yourself going at a certain level for hours, testing it out over and over again and changing different things to make it better. It's a blast. You'll be hooked for weeks. The items that you use for your levels can be unlocked through story mode, but there are also tools, such as bolts, ropes, explosives, and lighting. You can also set things on fire! There are endless possibilities. But, after a while, you'll begin to get tired of it. If you have online, you would probably never get bored with it because of the onslaught of levels that are coming from your friends. But if you don't have online, i.e., me, you'll lose interest soon. You'll be yearning to have more story levels instead of building your own all the time, and it becomes a drag. But don't be discouraged. Little Big Planet is a fun and wonderful experience that will entertain you immensely for hours.
