Tom Mc Shea and sackboy tackle the horde in this video review for LittleBigPlanet Karting.
Ive heard of LBPK and i want it but it wasnt there and it said its coming in Nov6 And i waited and Waited and Bam! it was Here!Let me tell That LBPK is alot like Modnation So i decided to get it but since christamas was close I was Geting it for Cristmas Now were is meh epic kart >:3
Another unnecessary game. I mean, there was already 'ModNation Racers' which is a lot like 'LittleBigPlanet' in ways only then a racer. Heck, they even marketed it together, but still they have to create a "LBP"-version.
They would probably have been better off doing "LBP"-styled DLC for "MNR", if they haven't already done that.
What I want in racers today is a new 'Destruction Derby' or a new 'Carmageddon'.
Those were pretty awesome and crazy and they could do a lot more with those titles today.
Mario kart, diddy kong racing, sonic allstar racing, crash bandicoot, mortal combat and now little big planet?
WHERE IS MY RESIDENT EVIL KART :C !?
@Nibraybirk No disrespect to Nintendo, but you realize outside of Zelda clones, most companies that copy Nintendo are going for casuals, right? Nintendo's influence hasn't exactly been a good thing this generation if you're playing on PS3 or 360.
ModNation Racers did everything so well that it was always going to be hard for LBP Karting to be able to compete but I expected more.
I don't hate Mario Kart clones in fact I was really hoping this would not nesseciarly be an "MK killer" but at least hold a candle to it as Sonic and Sega All Stars Racing did. It is rather surprising this wasn't stronger than a lot of us hoped. May hold off on buying it right away. Or at least wait for a demo.
Out of curiousity Tom, did you get the appeal of the original LBP games? Because your criticism of the fact that the games you can create with the LBP tools are kind of why the series has any kind of following at all.
I really hate when these reviewers try to use intelligent words but cant pronounce them correctly...
you want to play the best of 2013? order it.
I never got Modnation when I planned to....the question is....would this be better to buy now or should I still get Modnation when I have some extra cash?
@uglypinkmoose Considering how much less MNR costs go with that. In my opinion it's a better game also, unless you have a thing for sack people.
@zilcher @uglypinkmoose I have to respectfully disagree, Zilcher. Modnation Racers was alright but has a lot of issues that LBP Karting doesn't have...starting with the fact that you don't have to wait through the abysmal loading times. The actual racing is more fun and creation tools seem to be easier to use as well.
@standarddamage That's understandable, everyone has different tastes . The issues I had with LBP K was the sense of speed was not there. It was like you were coasting all the time. Also the weapon system. Unless you memorized the icons you didn't know what your weapon effects would be. But that's just me. Everyone will find different good points and bad points about different things. The important thing to you the player is if you enjoy the game and not what other people think of it.
After a string of downright terrible reviews from Tom Mc Shae, we finally get one that is pretty spot on. This type of game is all about creation, and creation tools are a step back in terms of ease of use when compared with Mod Nation Racers. Boosting management & weapon system are also inferior to MNR.
Tom McShea is DOING something again...
I should complain. That IS the rule right? Oh you DON'T have to? Really?
Alright then, I guess I'll just watch. Might leave just ONE troll comment, don't want to get withdrawal anorexia or something.
7.0. That is . . . . . . . . . a bold affirmation. Since so many people like LBP games, Gamespot is probably annoying someone right now, (even when they are right about some games they annoy someone).
Quite surprised it got a 7 actually, considering IGN (that usually over-rate games) gave it a 5.
I think the little big planet games have now become one of them "Fun to play if you're good at it" genres. They're brilliant in terms of innovation, but only the pros can really get to grips will all the modification and creation tools.
I loved LBP1, the second one however I felt a bit left behind, things were farrrr too confusing. Karting does look good, but the non-interactive tutorials will undoubtedly be one massive ball ache.
If there's a demo for this i'll give it a go, won't be rushing out to buy though without further knowledge.
Looks ok, reminds me of Mario kart or crash team racing. still iv'e growing out of those kinds of game's so i think ill pass. Going to go back to completing Halo 4 and then God of war.
So..I'm buying a clunky set of dev tools?
When I call the mechanic he says, "Here, buy these tools and do it yourself",lol
Maybe I'm just being grumpy but when I see a game whose strong point is the level editor I think the game makers had no creativity themselves to create good levels so they released the level editor so players make their own. When I see people commenting on Portal they never say the game is good because it lets you make your own levels.
@vinardo I don't own a PS3, but isn't Little Big Planet's emphasis on creating levels and playing other users' levels?
kinda disappointed but yet im not surprised......its a cool addition to the LBP universe but they really never gave out much info....they were always hiding it from the public. sad but i possibly still might get it
Mario Kart is still best. I feel like the battle items kill the other kart racers. ..What is it about those damn shells?!
@GamespotSux_IKR Agreed. I think its hard to learn the items on new kart racers. Whereas mario kart is nice and familiar. When we get a shell or banana skin we know whats gonna happen.
I'm gonna have to pass on this game.. it just never looked like it was that fun of racer from the get go, well at least not to me anyway. Here's hoping Sonic All Stars Racing Transformed is alot better.
@callofduty405 Ha ha don't say that. I really don't think that's true. Maybe if it was Mario Kart. :P
@callofduty405 never truer. but some people will call us fanboys for saying that.
@callofduty405 In all fairness, they rated it much higher than IGN :)
