Most creative RPG ever made.

User Rating: 8 | Lionheart: Legacy of the Crusader PC
I was expecting a straight forward Crusading era theme, which I am fond of, but got treated to an adventure that blows the blinders off of linear PC gaming storylines.

Packed into this adventure are many treasurable moments in Medieval Europe with a descendant of Lionheart exploring all the mysteries we know so well and in the process learning what has eluded historians to this day. You can find out the characters and happenings behind all kinds of historical events that we thought we already understood.

Three things I loved about this game: the graphics, the factions and the very unique character development. The character building uses the same system as the enduring Fallout series but instead of gun skills you get magic and medieval weapon skills. Each magic type is fun to try out and you will be tempted to keep making new characters to try them all.

The factions are based on religious and political groups from history including the Templar Knights and Inquisition among others. It's a tough choice which one you join but you should match the faction with your own opinions so you will agree with the missions you are given.

The graphics are as beautiful and creative as the storyline and prove that the gaudy 3D graphics taking over RPG games can still be handily outdone by artistic creativity of the old fashioned 2D type.

The difficulty of the game is just right. Some people say it is too hard but I found the challenge is just enough to keep you honest. There are no easy exploits to milk for easy kills and the game makes you pay attention to every fight. Magic is easily used by right-clicking on enemies to light them up or to summon creatures, heal etc.

I totally recommend RPG lovers to play this game. So unique, so creative, this game deserves to be in an RPG Hall of Fame next to classics like Baldur's Gate and Fallout Tactics.
