There is no statistical background for this list. These are just the jrpg's this gen that I thought were particularly bad, though I don't quite hate most of these games (I wasted over a hundred hours on Last Remnant...for some reason).

Last Rebellion definitely should have been an option

Never heard of it, though I have a feeling I don't want to....

Last Remnant isn't bad, unless you played it on the 360.

All the games on list are better than XIII.

I can't pick three at once, this poll is already seeming like a fail

Except Star Ocean 4, such a god awful game and disappointing after 3. The characters are all crap, basically just cookie-cutter tropes, at least XIII had a pretty decent playable cast, not the best ever, but not SO4 bad. If you think XIII had bad writing, SO4 had an awwwwful awful script made worse by the terrible voice acting (even in Japanese thanks to Lymle). If the game were even decent, its 300hr+ platinum might have been worth getting, but sadly it's not because it's such a bad game.

No argument with you there. Though SO4 tried REALLY hard....

If it's the PC version of Last Remnant, it does not deserve to fit under the category of worst jrpg in this gen. It's a solid game and Emma Honeywell reminds me a lot of Beatrix, in a good way.

It tried, but in the end the cast and writing of XIII annoyed me far greater than what SOIV could dish. I already knew what I was getting with star ocean after the poor twist in SO3.

The fact some people genuinely think XIII and XIII-2 is worse than some of the games on the list, and is the worst game on the list, is actually very scary.

I did play the PC version, and the story, characters, and dialogue were so offensive in their blandless and lack of giving a f*** that there's no way it could ever be considered a quality game despite the rather cool gameplay. But even that began to grate after awhile, with the extreme amount of grinding and patience that is required to get anything of value. Still, 100+ hours, so I guess it did something right.

TC, you didn't play jRPG much? there's a lot of garbage jRPGs missing from this poll.

If you just trying to make fun of XIII series then you're a troll. they're far from the worst jRPG this gen.

There will always be something missing when you only have ten slots. And I tried to avoid the games that are just technically bad, as thats just shooting fish in a barrel. These are games that shouldn't be bad, made by top developers and with a lot of money and expectations poured into them (also, I actually played these games). its that kind of crappitude that hurts the most, and tends to be memorable. The fact that I hate FFXIII more than any game this gen helps too.

FFXIII, FFXIII-2 and LR don't belong to this poll.

FFXIV is hands down the worst.

    And its still Valkyrie.

Wow, guys, come on, FFXIII is 2nd place? Talk about irrational hatred. There's actual garbage-quality games on there.

....like White Knight Chronicles 2. That's what I voted for. A piece of garbage. I finished it yesterday and boy, am I glad that I'm done with that horrible game.
