Its online somewhere, subtitled. Kind of interesting how humans n L'cie were created to live in harmony but stuff went down offscreen a while before FF XIII, i hoped they would include that backstory too but they didnt.

The whole mythology felt very generic to me. There was no sense of wonder or awe when I delve into it. Just a few generic deities with ridiculous names.
The whole l'Cie/fal'Cie thing also felt stupid.
Succeed in your Focus and we'll turn you into crystal; fail and we'll turn you into C'ieth?
If I'm presented with a lose-lose situation in real life, I'd feel angry, bitter, spiteful, etc. But when it's presented in FFXIII, it just felt silly.
It's like someone came up with half an idea one night, got drunk and fell asleep. Then one month later they finished the second half of the idea and didn't bother to check what they had written before >.>

From some post that i have read, it seems to me that most people criticize FNC mythology without even understanding it a little bit, just a couple of precisations:
-humans were NOT created at all to live in armony, they are actually seen as an anomaly (Etro is probably the only one that understand the humans' lives true value) .
The ONLY reason that humans seemed to live in armony with the Fal'Cie is because the Fal'Cies needed the humans for their plan, in other words the Fal'Cie were basically "farming" humans and using them since the very beginning (even the whole war in ancient times was just an excuse!).
-In FFXIII everyone if fully conscious that becoming l'Cie is a lose-lose situation, i don't see anyone thinking differently tbh.
-The fact that becoming a crystal is seen a gift from the Fal'Cie point of view is EXACTLY because they don't understand the meaning of mortal life, that's why they probably consider crystallization something positive for a mere human (since he7she would become eternal,more or less.....), this point makes perfect sense, contrary of what some of you may think.

Eh. Not really. It felt pretty unfocused and muddy at times, as if it hadn't been properly thought-out before some jerk threw it into the game. The only thing that really sticks out are the bad parts.
If it had been handled properly, and been part of a better game, then maybe it could've been interesting.

Because Type-Zero is one of the best things to come out of SE in years, where as the Lightning Saga is pretty much kicking its heels right now.
