My first PS3 game only cost $5.99...
You really can't argue with the value of 50 levels--sure, the first several are "training"-level stuff--for six bucks. You would also expect lame production values for that price, but shockingly this is a visually pleasing game with decent, if somewhat repetitive, audio. And the control scheme isn't as cumbersome as a Lemmings veteran might assume.
I'm gratified to see that the original concept that developer Psygnosis had in mind with the old PC games of the early 1990s is still very much intact. This was one of the most refreshing gaming titles of the bygone generation of the 80386 processor and the non-accelerated VGA graphics. Basically, these new iterations have new coats of paint and updated features like fast-forward and zoom, and that's about it. The core principles are still in place, and that's why Lemmings for the PS3 is such a strong game and such a welcome, if unexpected, surprise.
