Unbiased review

User Rating: 4.5 | Leisure Suit Larry: Reloaded PC
I played the game back when computers were large paper weights in comparison to today's standards, and I have played this reboot. Its clear by most of the user reviews that the majority are enraged fanboys, a 10 seriously? Not in this life time.

I enjoyed this game very much, back when it was innovative, new and close to what could be called the cutting edge of video game technology. This reboot however just comes off as a shameless cash grab from Lowe. It is pretty much the same game with a lick of paint and a new puzzle, and the same tired interface redux.

The problem is that lick of paint isn't even a good one, the graphics are still yesteryear, the puzzles are pretty much the same, they may be a slight challenge if you are new to the experience, due to them being fairly obscure and sometimes not really logically related, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but may frustrate some who aren't out of the box thinkers.

If you happen to be a fan of smut and adventure games, congratulations you have found new meaning in life (for a couple of hours anyway), if only one or the other is appealing to you, then I doubt this will satisfy your particular preference. It doesn't last long enough or is challenging enough to be taken seriously by an adventure purist and if all you want is smut then you might as well pick up a copy of Viz.

If Lowe wanted to do his legacy justice he should really have take the project more seriously and actually gone out on a limb and produced a new Larry adventure.

In short you might find this fun for a couple of hours, but it is a weak effort and a average quality product at best. Nostalgia seems to be the only hook, otherwise I'd rather play a classic like Zak McKracken, Maniac Mansion or Grim Fandango.

Some games age like fine wine and some don't, this didn't.
