We are gonna be able to play as him right? The beginning of Fellowship was always one of my favorite parts. Watching him swing his mace and wipe people out like nothing was awesome.

That's Sauron at the begining of Fellowship against the alliance of Men and Elves.
Knowing Lego games, we'll be able to play as almost every character in the movie....I just hope they make them unique, and not being lazy.

Sauron is available as a Pre order bonus here in Australia so i'd say you might need to go find a store with that perk.

^ That's the elven version of Sauron (2nd Age). The armoured Sauron is in there too.
It would be ridiculous to omit the one character who the entire trilogy is predicated upon and, indeed, named after!
I'm just hoping he has a slew of attacks and magic that would beseem an über OP boss character like him. If he just has a token mace swipe or two and a, say, fireball, I'll be much disappoint -_-

I really hope here in the US we will be able to play as Sauron from the 2nd age.
I have NOT played a lego game with DLC yet, (just Lego Indy 1 & 2 and Lego Star Wars TCS) so I'm not sure how long they way until they release exclusives, if they even do.

I pre-ordered from Amazon and one of the exclusive characters was Sauron from the 2nd age.

He is playable. You earn him after you do the bonus stage. He just has a mace. Boring.
