A perfect GBA edition of a great console game.

User Rating: 9 | LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game GBA
Although it might not pull off the sweet graphics on the Xbox and PS2, for its capabilities, this GBA edition is good. Not to mention the only portable edition around.

Lego Star Wars has you playing with squat little Lego figures in classic Star Wars environments from the first three movies. Environments aren't very dense, trees and things are immobile and unbreakable. There are studs and pickups too be found in boxes as you wield your saber against waves of droids and sand people. No stormtroopers here.

Besides graphics, there are some notable changes from the console versions. At the beginning of missions, your character starts off with seven or eight tiny hearts. Lose all of them to enemies and you die and are dropped off at the beginning of the mission. In the console, you have four hearts and respawn immediately. It makes finding hearts a necessity. Also levels are different and shorter. There never was a Tatooine mission in Episode 2, so some missions are replaced, like Kamino. Vehicle missions are gone now. Free Play gives you a single extra character to play with. And the 100 characters have been cut down to about 15. Oh well.

Sound sounds good. The tracks mix well with the missions. Thumbs up hear. I mean, here.

If you're planning a road trip and love Lego Star Wars, this game is a nice experience. Look for the sequel and compare them. Some people love different trilogies. But for the Gameboy, it gets an +A.
