- "Just plain fun"
Gameplay: The gameplay is simple but fun. You play as a character out of the movies in Lego form and have a blaster or lightsaber, depending on the character, or no weapon if you are a droid. At least two other characters accompany you during the game and you can switch between characters. The characters are chosen for plot reasons. Because different characters have different abilities, you use your team RPG style to accomplish different tasks, such as jumping high, opening locked doors, shooting targets, etc. I enjoyed trying out the different characters to figure out what their abilities are. Because I am not a Star Wars movie fan, I did not know who the different characters were. So when the game told me that young Anakin could do something special for the game, I was not which Lego figure it was. I knew, of course, who he ended up as. Some levels also have vehicle portions where you race or fly a fighter which adds variety to the experience. The game has a neat aspect where after you finish the story, you can go back and play it again to gain more areas and more puzzle pieces to build ships or buy upgrades. You can use any character you want and it creates a lot of additional play. 9
Graphics: They are good enough, not mind blowing, but very honest to the Lego theme. 8
Sound: Good enough. Sound and voice acting is not a real important part of the game. 7
Value: This is a very fun, simple and immersive game that can be played by any age group. That makes it rare for an Xbox game. That reason alone makes the game a great value. Then there is also a lot of fun replay value in going back through the levels with different characters to get new parts and upgrades that adds a lot of repeat but novel gameplay. 9
Tilt: Again, a game of this quality, novelty, and humor that can be played by all age groups is rare enough that it deserves and excellent score. 9
