The second Lego Star Wars on the DS is more fun and less glitchy but there's still that problem with level restrictions.

User Rating: 7.5 | LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga DS
THE GOOD
*Nice graphics
*Great sounds
*Heaps of characters
*Loads of things to do once game is finished
*Most minigames are fun

THE BAD
*No open worlds
*Gameplay mechanic isn't very great
*Controlling ships is like a chore
*Puzzles aren't very fun and alot are the same
*Cutscenes aren't anything more than a bunch of images

Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga is the second in the series to hit the DS, and it is certainly updated with heaps of things to do that would last you an amazing amount of time, but the level designs are just a bit too boring to keep you on it . . .

STORY
The Complete Saga is lives up to it's name. You can play through all six episodes in Lego form on the DS. This is great - it means that finishing the game will not all be that easy. But there are osme incredibly irritating cutscenes when you do Story Mode. I was expecting to see all these Lego guys fighting each other, but instead I was hit with these little images changing from one to the other. I would see OB1 looking at Anakin, and then I'd see Anakin in the lava. This has been improved in Lego Indiana jones though, so keep that in mind. but these cutscenes don't really matter, you can always skip them with a smack of the start button (which it is likely you will). Another problem is most of the levels have been taken out and now in Episode 1, two levels almost look the same which is just plain annoying.

GAMEPLAY
You're going to wish the DS had an analog stick. You're character can only go straight, left right or diagonal in a blink of an eye. There's no look of the characters turning much like in The World Ends With You and Sims 2. The controls are much like the PS2. B is jump, Y is swing your lightsabor, A is use the force and L and R is swap characters. The Touch Screen doesn't really do much - You move your stylus on the green square to use force or touch the character you want to be, this is just a quicker option than using the buttons. There are quite a few minigames all touched based you can unlock, and they are quite fun to play but won't keep you coming back for more. Also when you need to open a door you play this little touch screen game to unlock the door which may annoy some casual gamers. I can't say much for the level designs either. Instead of an open world with heaps of areas to explore, you are extremely restricted to where you go and the camera view is normally on your side, not behind you which is what I would have prefered. Combat is repetitive but I guess that's just Lego Star Wars style. Also, they took away the reason we actually played The Original Trilogy - the ships! In the second one we were playing in an awesome 3D world in a ship and I loved it! But now we are given a crummy level with an overhead camera view and awkward controls. Excuse what I'm about to say, but this sucks. Not only is it boring but every time I was hit with a level like this I turned off my DS. (Sigh).
But after you have finished all the levels, I'm sure you won't have collected all the red bricks! This will keep you going for a while. Plus a really big thumbs up goes to the amount of characters you can control. General Grevious is so fun to control and there are six whole pages of characters to choose from!

GRAPHICS
The graphics are great! Much better than the last one and it really looks like true Lego Star Wars! Only thing is the explosions in the game aren't very graphical.

SOUND
The sound is true Star Wars music with all the cool sounds of screaming Jar Jars to useless blasters!

Overall, Lego Star Wars The Complete Saga is a good game with nice graphics, sounds and billions of things to do. I just wanted a better gameplay mechanic.
