Now, this isn't the first time Legos have been in video games but this is the first time your favorite yellow, mute, plastic, blocks have starred in their own music game!
I hope you all haven't been living under rock because i'm sure you all know that Rock Band has become a phenomenon lately and Legos have been here since for ever! Rock Band is a music that uses guitar, drum, and microphone controllers. You keep up with the beat of the falling notes, or in this case, Lego bricks. Sorry kids, there are no Lego Rock Band guitars that are shaped like Legos.
This game is Legos. All Lego, all the time. You get classic Lego venues such as a construction site to Lego castles to even a Lego UFO!
The story is what makes this different from other Rock Bands. You start out as a person who gets inspired by Queen and you start a band. Its just goes uphill from here. Did I mention Queen? Yes Freddy Mercury's Queen. This is the second Rock Band that has special guests. Queen, Blur, Iggy Pop, David Bowie, and even Spinal Tap appear! The story goes on with funny, good 'ole Lego-style cut scenes. Whats even better are the Rock Power Challenges. Once in while you'll get a Rock Power Challenges. Here, you'll get solve other people's problems with the power of rock! Whats really great about these is whats happening in the back round, Octopuses fighting, Ghostbusting (c wut i did thar?), Meteor smashing, building destroying fun! A small thing thats included is your own "Rock Den." Every time you beat a gig for the first time, you get something, anything. Anything you win can be put into your den, it's minor but you'll feel like you acomplished something once you get that horsey ride you always wanted! You might even get to make your first album...
What wins this game, is the set list. From classics like We Will Rock You to guilty pleasures like Ghostbusters to even those laughable ones like Word Up! there is a song for everyone. If you don't like your little people to sing those songs, then theres always the export option which allows you to export these songs into old Rock Bands.
On the downside: there are only 45 or so songs in-game and you can only download songs that are "child-friendly", so you won't be able to play songs that have to do with sex, drugs, and voilence, so say good bye to over half of your DLC! Also, you can't play online, good work Harmonix, now my friends can trash-talk instead of people online! Yeah, not a lot to rant bout!
Game play: It's Rock Band just in Lego form.
Replayability: Really high if your a kid, like Legos, and enjoy music!
Story: Funny, not to be taken seriously, it's a music, what do you expect!
Graphics: Lego, Lego, Lego! Pretty good for Legos!
Final Judgement: It's worth it just for the set list itself. Good for the kids. Think of the children!
