LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game User Review
If you love the movies, then this is a good game to play. If you're looking for something serious - play with a partner

- Difficulty:
- Just Right
- Time Spent:
- 20 to 40 Hours
- The Bottom Line:
- "Surprisingly good"
Like any other 360 owner, I am addicted to getting achievements. So much so I often find myself wasting my limited amount of rental options on games that are popular only for the easy achievements (Avatar was one of them).
Pirates of the caribbean seemed to be too much for merely myself to do. As I didn't think I had the patience to get that 1000g and 100% the game all on my own, and so I employed the help of a partner. More specifically my girlfriend.
She loves the movies and I love achievements, it felt like the right thing to do.
When I played the game single player, I felt like I should be having more fun - instead I found myself getting annoyed at how the Minikits in the game were stupidly hidden (wasn't fun trying to find all 200 of them on my own).
One minor annoyance aside, I had more fun playing co-op Lego: POTC than I did playing co-op CoD: MW2 or GOW2. If you knew me you'd know how much I love those games.
Not to piss all over the single player of this game, (as there isn't any difference when playing with a partner through the story you just connect a controller and jump in) but this game is incredibly fun - when with a partner. It was very enjoyable trying to get all the achievements and progress to 100% completed gameplay - with a partner.
As it was a long game 20 - 30 hours? I would suggest buying it, rather than renting as I did. I felt the need to cram as much gameplay into a day as possible and made it more of an obsession, than a fun game to complete.
I would also suggest playing with a partner because you really do get so much more fun out of everything when you're playing with a friend.

Great game, in my opinion, only semi-difficult, but it is all around fun like a game like this should be.

I really enjoy all the Lego games and have to say that this one is also not that bad. A bit hard but just good fun!
