TT Games has done it again. They have returned to the simple and highly enjoyable realm of Lego to bring the last installment of the Boy Wizard's escapades. Lego Harry Potter Years 5-7 is full of the familiar as well as new developments and TT Games has delivered a winner. The blending of J.K. Rowling's story with improved control of the characters is vastly improved in this edition.
The wealth of playable characters and unlockable spells and skills will take you from the initial battle with the Dementor's at the playground in Little Whingeing all the way to the final confrontation with "You-Know-Who" at Hogwarts. Along the way, you will have the opportunity to build Lego constructions, collect Lego blocks, defeat enemies and search for golden wizard hats. You will find that certain witches and wizards have specific sets of spells, so to complete the game at 100% requires revisiting previously completed levels.
The controls improved since Lego Harry Potter 1-4. No longer do you have the annoying slide-to-move, they have graciously provided a floating D-pad and various buttons for controlling actions. The graphics have also been stepped up in this edition of the Lego HP world, and thankfully, they have given us the ability to jump.
Hard-core gaming Harry Potter 5-7 is not, but you cannot help but enjoy hours of guilty fun while exploring the wizarding world.
