Lego harry potter is a great game and worth getting.

Lego harry potter years 1-4 is said to be the best game in the lego series and is said to be one of the best movie based games. The game is sort of a genre combination of action, adventure, a lot of puzzle and light platforming, in an odd way it kind of reminds me of the legend of Zelda series. If you are into the lego series or just harry potter, this would be a great game to add to your gaming collection and because it is out for all major consoles, you don't need to worry about having the right one.
The game consists of 24 levels, 6 levels for each year harry is at Hogwarts. The lego Harry Potter game follows to storyline of the first 4 movies perfectly and has enough cut-scenes to equal the length of a feature film!!! The makers of the game also through in their own humour into the game, making it unique, but you aren,t likely to understand it unless you've seen the movies. The game also has all the theme songs as the movies but there is absolutely no speaking between the characters, just grunts and "huh? ahhhh hmmm? ohh" which can get a little annoying, but still this is a great game.
The game has total of 167 different playable characters from Harry Potter to Ron's rat to dobby to voldemort!! Although you do have to buy them while in diagon ally. The game also seems to have every spell spoken in the books and movies, some you can buy from diagon ally, while others you learn in classes. In diagon ally you can also buy gold bricks, play bonus levels, customize your own characters, buy "red bricks", and enter cheat codes, but you won't here any from me. :)
The goal of the game, besides beating the first 4 years is to unlock everything from every character to all 200 of the gold bricks, making it a great puzzle game, so to unlock everything you have to go through the game 2 or maybe 3 times.
One thing that I really don't like in the game is that when you really need "studs", (the lego currency) you might shoot magic at a flower or something to see all the studs fall off a cliff. It's not really a big deal, but it will start to bug you. Speaking of studs, the silver ones are worth 10, gold are worth 100, blue are worth 1,000, and purple are worth 10,000.
A little tip/trick I picked up is that in co-op play, while driving a vehicle you can run people over so they fall down, but if you run someone over, but then leave the car on them, they can't get up, they're trapped until you leave the area or get the vehicle off them. it's mean but funny. :)
