Is the ice cream torture bit an homage to Fallen Angels?

I got this game on the 27th, my pre-order turned up a day earlier. I played the game for a good 2-3 hours, and I was enjoying it. I'm not a lego game fan (didn't play any of the others, apart from a little Lego starwars). This has the child elements in the game, but it's enjoyable for adults too. Some of the cut scenes are playful and just down right silly with laughter.

The game play is simple to pick up and get on going. It at first doesn't make clear what the lego blocks are for, but after a good hour into the game you begin to find out their a type of currency to unlock way points, ramps, vehicle spawn points and so on.

The only downside to this game is that there is a noticeable strain on the console at points when trying to load everything on the screen. I've had a few police chases and the game is getting a little jumpy and it just slows everything down. Other than that, and the long loading times, it is a great title for the Wii U.

This title is a must have  for the Wii U owners.

This is one of the reasons for me to get a Wii U, as well as Rayman Legends and Bayonetta 2. Still waitingfor any chance of a price drop before the holidays though T_T

Yep, this looks like a lot of fun; really liking the creativity in the humor and what is touched upon in regards of the style of missions. This should do really well. Although, kinda miss the games where talking is minimal, but maybe that was only some games, rather than all lego games.....

If anyone is thinking of getting a Wii U Target has some great deals going on. You get a $50 gift card for buying the console and the games are buy 2 get 1 free. I got Monster Hunter, Lego City, and Super Mario Bros.

LEGO Games are pretty much awesome now. I remember when I was younger, they were decent, but now in this generation...wow they are superb! Can I be 9 again??? Oh wait..don't need to be to play LEGO Games! :D

I know its an exclusive, but it was unwise for Lego to only put this on the wii u, because they wont make as much money as they would by putting it on all the systems.

it was unwise to just put it on the wii u, not a lot of people have it

@jamesbond2198 they get money from nintendo for making it exclusive.... it may only be a temporary like the xbox got bioshock but ps3 got it eventually

Looks like the best LEGO game to date - definitely a buy if it comes out on PS3/X360

It's not a dumb move at all to release this game as a Wii U exclusive. All LEGO titles, every single one, that is on a Nintendo console, overwhelmingly sells best on the Nintendo console. Frankly, they sell relatively poorly on PS3 and 360, especially considering the budget for these rather big-time games. Also, Nintendo is helping them publish it, so of course it's a Wii U exclusive. It's much smarter to take the extra money and sell on the much more promising platform then lose that money and release it were it won't sell well.

People say they refuse to buy a Wii U, but more games like this, and the coming up Bayonetta 2, Wonderful 101, Nintendo, and Retro games are sure going to show some worth. Either way, their loss. Have fun with your $500 PS4 with a slight graphical update and Cloud service (because Sony handles those things so well).

@Zaledo I will keep to my PC thank you very much

But seriously: I can see a slight understanding...Only slight, to why it would be an exclusive like hey, you get people to buy your console, business dealings and all of that, but at the same time it kinda limits the purchases, like bayonetta, it was for Xbox360 and PS3 (I think) and it was a pretty good game, I played a bit of it I liked it and would like to try out the sequel, but I was cut off because they decided to make it exclusive and well...That's not cool to be honest

Man, I've been looking forward to it since it first showed up at E3, too bad it's a Wii U exclusive. I probably will buy the Wii U someday but then again, I've been saying the same thing about the PS3 for some 5 years now...

I loved Lego City as a kid, it certainly was my favorite Lego "series" or whatever, the only donwside I suppose this game has is that you can't build your own custom cars.

@kamikazeespleen I bought the wii u for its exclusives, games like arkham city may be better on it, but they are not the cheapest either

Bad move making this Wii-U exclusive.    I would love to play this on my Xbox but there's no way in hell I would buy a Wii-U.

Looks fun. But still, it makes you wonder how "funny" and humorous it would be considered if "Lego" was removed from the title...

This game seems like a load of fun. It's too bad they didn't release this on the PS3 and/or 360, as I would've bought it up in a heartbeat. I'm still not sold on the the Wii U and getting it for just one game isn't enough for me. Still, enjoy it, Nintendo folk!
