A great game with OK controls and An Excellent Career Mode!

Concept/Storyline: Its A wrestling game there really is no story.The only story is in Storymode but we will get to that in just a little bit.
Graphics: They aren't up to the likes of Smackdown Vs Raw 2008 but they shouldn't have to be really.This is a game from 2001 not 2008 so get over it.If you can accept the lackluster graphics then we should be just fine.Take it for what its worth not what you would see today.The only complaint I do have is that the wrestlers look like Jakks Action Figures.But that in itself can be A pleasure or a pain take it how you will.
Sound: The sound isn't exactly all there to speak but this game was made by Acclaim so what do you expect right?Anyways it can be clunky and annoying at times but only for the short of patience.Really the sound could be done without completely.
Control: The controls are supposed to be revolutionary and great.Are they?No!Are they the worst controls?No agian!But just don't run in all willy wacky and expect to pull off a move.There is some thought and timing to be put into learning these controls.They could be better as well but hey Agian this is the Acclaim of old were talking about here not THQ.
Gameplay: The gameplay is Average.You have Single,Tag,4 Way,And 4 Way match types to play around in.Granted the match types lack this game isn't bad in the gameplay department.You have A revolutionary never before seen nuetral starting position in which you can take control or go on the defense.Anyways it is standard controls although the wrestlers do feel somewhat rushed with the taunts and moves.Now we move on to the Career Mode.This is where this game really shines through.If nothing else get this game for its excellent Carer mode.You go from Region to Region fighting opponents until at some point you face A champion and Win.You do this through out all of the career and after a while you get better and learn more abilities and moves.At some point you win all the matches and become A major legend in the business of wrestling.It is more fun if you pick a created star actually because you go from nothing to everything and the road there can even be pretty fun most of the time.So in short the Gameplay is good at best but it would be best handled by those with lots of Patience.
My Opinion: This game is fun and Different.It evens lets you play with some of the all time greats like Hogan,Ted Debiase,Jerry Lawler,The Road Warriors, And many many more.If you see this at a game store for cheap go ahead and pick it up and try the game.
