The story begins in a town of Rim Elm, which is blocked off from the Mist, (a cloud of mist that contains evil creatures known as Seru). Everything is well. Then, Mei 's, a close friend of the main character, Vahn, father dies from being attacked by a Seru. The following night, the wall that separates Mist from Rim Elm is shattered releasing the Mist. Vahn goes to the Genisis Tree within the town to pray, when a creature called a Ra-Seru, which are good instead of evil like the Ra-Seru, attaches itself to Vahn, and after a night of fight, Vahn and the Ra-Seru, Meta, are off to save the world from the Mist.
This game is the first and best RPG I have ever played. Even better than FF7 in my opinion. The battle system is unique and the story is amazing. The gameplay is very addicting. The graphics may suck, but who cares if the game is great. I'm giving this game a 10 in graphics just because the fight scene graphics are good for a PS1 game. If you can find this game still, you need to buy it, because it is truly amazing. I have already beat this game once as a kid, at the age of 11. Now I'm 15 and I'm addicted to it again and I'm into the game! Buy it. Play it. Love it.
