anyone know a bind to make crouch toggle-able?

No idea. I haven't ever seen such a thing in a Source Engine-based game.
Maybe it's scriptable, but I wouldn't know how.

bind CTRL "toggle_duck"
^ that one works for me but you can use whatever key you want.

Well mine is about a handspan or so in length. It's about a hand's breadth in width. The palm of it could fit in the palm of my hand.
To be serious though, from butt to middle tip reaches the O key on this keyboard. I imagine the size is not the problem, though, as I have to curl my pinky back slightly into an unnatural position to push on the ctrl key.

go to C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead\left4dead\cfg , and make a file named autoexec.cfg. open this file in notepad, and paste this in:
alias +toggleduck +duck1
alias +duck1 "+duck; alias +toggleduck +duck2"
alias +duck2 "-duck; alias +toggleduck +duck1"
bind CTRL "+toggleduck"

It's slightly deceptive to use +actions there. The only ones that should have a plus or minus sign in front of them is +/-duck.
In other words:
alias toggleduck +duck1
alias duck1 "+duck; alias toggleduck duck2"
alias duck2 "-duck; alias toggleduck duck1"
bind CTRL toggleduck
Now mind you, it works fine with it, but to be honest I think conventions should be stuck with. Then again, if I stuck with convention, I'd be using underscores to separate words rather than alternate case.

My pinky thanks TheDarkNerd and Atmospheres for their help.
Oh my hand size is pretty normal size. Its just the unnatural curve i have to put on it. I do a lot of manual labor at my job so they are more used for strength than dexterity.

You can also bind duck to C and bind voice to something else, like your mouse. C is more natural if you do it a lot of times.

Hey, if you hold down ctrl and scroll with the mouse wheel on firefox, it zooms in and out of the page.
