Is his an update?

Is this an update that I can just download or am I gonna have to buy it from Steam.com , I just wanted to know because my friend borrowed the game and it didn't work for his computer and I just wanted to know before I get it back

Its a free update and it should download automatically while you are connected to steam so you might already have it and not even know.
