Left 4 Dead 2 takes the amazing gameplay from the original title and takes it to a whole new level

User Rating: 9.5 | Left 4 Dead 2 X360
Left 4 Dead was a fun multiplayer experience that showed gamers how simplicity in gaming can still be fun. However, it was limited by a small amount of weapons, maps, and enemy types. Left 4 Dead 2 pushes beyond these limits, and delivers the best zombie video game experience I've had by far.

L4D 2 has excellent graphics. This game is more violent than the original, with limbs flying off and more gruesome headshots. The zombies are more carefully detailed than the first game, as well as the environments. The sound is also top notch, with good voice direction. The zombie noises and eeriem music perfectly provide background for scary and intense moments.

Probably the biggest upgrade in L4D 2 is the weapons. The weapon selection is much larger, with many new weapon types, such as grenade launchers. There is also the addition of melee weapons, such as axes, chainsaws(awesome!) and even guitars. Whichever you use, you will enjoy hacking and slashing at zombies at bloodily owning them.

Left 4 Dead 2's gameplay is similar to that of the original. Four human survivors must fight their way past a slew of infected zombies in order to survive. For those who haven't played the original, L4D has very cooperative based gameplay. It plays out like an arcade shooter, where one must simply shoot their way through the level. L4D 2's single player gameplay is shallow, but the Xbox Live experience is a blast. Blasting zombies with your friends is incredibly entertaining. There is also Versus mode, where a team of players control zombies who have to prevent the human players from reaching the end of the level. The new zombie types adds a whole new level of intensity to Versus mode. There are also two new modes, Realism and Scavenger. Realism is the normal game without being able to see your teammates through walls, which adds a new amount of difficulty. Scavenger mode has players collect gas tanks while zombie players try to stop them. Scavenger is decent, but rather boring, and probably where you'll spend the least amount of time playing.

Left 4 Dead 2 was everything that I hoped for; an upgraded sequel to L4D that adds plenty of new content, but not too much to make it a completley different game. it takes the simple arcade shooter formula and integrates it into a crazy cooperative shootout. L4D 2 is an amazing multiplayer experience that I reccommend to any owner of Xbox Live.
