Whether experienced alone or with friends, L4D2 is one hell of an experience, and one of the best games of this year.

I really have to give kudos to my friend Randy, for persuading me to get the demo for this game, because I would have been missing out on one of the best games I'd played in a long time. Sure, ODST and MW2 are good, but in my opinion, they can't match the gameplay, cinematic feel, and co-op action that L4D2 presents. Its absolutely amazing.

The game takes place during a epidemic that has turned most of the population into zombies, similar to movies like Dawn of the Dead and 28 Days Later. The 4 new survivors, Ellis, Coach, Rochelle and Nick must work together to survive the epidemic and escape to safety. To sum this game up easily: its Resident Evil 5 on steroids, pretty much. Anyways, there's 5 different campaigns, with about 20 or so missions in total. That might not sound like a lot, but the length and intensity or the missions will make you be happy there's only 20 or so. The AI in this game is absolutely brilliant. Your teammates will actually work with you, healing you up if you can't heal yourself, giving you adreniline shots and pills, and providing cover fire. The AI for the zombies is also very well done. They'll charge at you when they see you, and if there's a noise like a pipe bomb or car alarm, they'll go to it. The hordes thrown at you are incredibly awesome to fight but can be somewhat overwhelming at times. Which, is a good thing, becuase if your feeling trigger-happy or bloodthristy, shooting through a horde of zombies will quench your thirst. The other multiplayer modes are awesome as well, but if you want to get the most fun out of this game, play the campaign with 2 or 3 friends. That s**t is fun. VERY fun.

All in all, if it wasn't for my friend Randy telling to get the demo, I would have missed on one of the most exciting games of this year, standing toe-to-toe with others like ODST or MW2. Whether experienced alone or with friends, L4D2 is one hell of an experience, and one of the best games of this year.
