Unranked to Platinum in 20 wins, Seph AMA

Serious post.

SInce I play with you guys I know that you can make plays together, and that's really all ranked is about, exploiting the other team's bad plays while doing your best to make good plays that your derp team can follow up with. I've tried duo queue a few times with people who I don't consider as being at my skill level and honestly, you guys got pretty lucky being able to get mid and jungle most any game, but not only that you had the backup plan of going duo bot which since I know how good you guys good should have been easy to crush.

All that said, you did get some pretty good luck it seems. Elo is really a joke and you might find worse or better players within a large range of like 150-200 elo. It was lucky you got the roles that you wanted but again you did have the strategy of mid jungle or duo bot.

Ranked comes down to a few categories that makes solo q kinda difficult.

1. Games that are pretty even and you can't make total stomp plays early on to snowball a game. These actually do increase in number at like 1600-1900 elo, any lower than that it's almost always possible to stomp your lane early if you do indeed belong at a higher elo, if you can't get to gold relatively easy, you probably deserve to be silver.

2. Games where you have that one guy who is just bad and you basically have to figure out how to circumvent his badness and carry the game anyway, I think this is the most common kind of game. To win this you basically have to verbally babysit the guy and tell him what do in order for you to stop his feeding spree, it's possible if you communicate though not always. In these situations you focus on the rest of the team to try to help them up so you can actually teamfight, but again communication is the key.

3. My whole team is on a feeding frenzy. In solo q if this happens, it's gg, suck it up and move onto the next one. AFK farm the lane/jungle and don't sweat it.
