Last Action Hero User Review
The developers of Last Action Hero should be ashamed for making a lazy, broken, and frustrating game.

- Difficulty:
- Very Hard
- Time Spent:
- 10 to 20 Hours
- The Bottom Line:
- "Broken"
The good: One of the first times Arnold's name is mentioned.
The bad: Extreneky Dull graphics, main character doesn't look like Arnie, Bad looping music, unresponsive controls, terrible backgrounds, based on a poor movie.
Game-play: 1/10
Graphics: 2/10
Sound: 1/10
Value: 1/10
Tilt: 2/10
Average Score: 1.3/10
Last Action Hero was a 1993 movie starring the Governor of California. The developers chose to put it a week ahead of Jurrassic Park's release. Bad idea. The film sucked at the box office and with critics, but it managed to be a cult classic.
Somehow, there is a video game adaption that is much worse than the movie. The developers of Last Action Hero should be ashamed for making a lazy, broken, and frustrating game. It remains the most frustrating beat'em-up based on a non animated film (the most frustrating beat'em-up based on an animated film was Bebe's Kids).
The game revolves around looping environments with lopping music and looping insanity when listening to the music. There is also grunting when you fight your enemies, and it gets brutally annoying. Speaking of enemies, there are two kinds of enemies, a guy with a knife, and a guy with a shovel. How creative.
The enemies keep coming and it gets extremely frustrating to beat'em-up! Once, I tried punching a guy and my punch went through him, and he didn't get hit. The enemies take too long to die, and your slow punch is going to take forever to kill it (it's also the only attack you have). There is limited time, so if you don't die, and you have little time, you are screwed! But you'll also be screwed when you're dying, so you're screwed anyways. The control is also unresponsive, so be ready to either have lots of patience, or scream and cuss at the screen for ranting hours. I'd rather get scratched in the face by a cat than play this crap.
Graphically, the game is a mess. The sprites are sloppy and dull, and the backgrounds are looping and abysmal. The movements with your punch is slow and annoying. This game looks worse than a 1987 arcade game.
Overall, stay away from any version of Last Action Hero. It's the most frustrating Beat'em-up released for more than one console ever released. If I Ahnuld was here, I'd say "asta la vista baby!", and destroy this with my freakishly huge bazzooka. The only time you can reccomend this is if it's the only video game in the world, and there wasn't any knew technology left, but I'd rather burn my clothes, stuff onions on my face, and wet my pants than play this game, and I suggest you do the same.

Last Action Hero is a lousy Beat-Em-Up that Arnold Schwarzenegger and his fans should avoid at all costs.

By far one of the worst games iv'e ever played, horrendous hit detection is the worst culprit of this broken mess.
