An interesting take on the top down view genre.

User Rating: 8 | Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light PS3
Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light is a spin-off title of the Tomb Raider series making this an all new adventure. The style of the game is similar to that of Champions of Norath or Diablo. A top down isometric view.
The selling point of this game has got to be the Co-op play. You can choose to play it via Local co-op or online co-op (Which will soon be added as a patch)
You really have to work together with your friend if you want to accomplish the mission. Totec uses a spear which Lara can use to jump up on, he has a shield which Lara can also jump on. Lara has a grapple hook which Totem can use as a tightrope and she seems to be the more flexible one that can zip around easily.
You can choose to play the game alone but it really is a much better game when you play it together with a friend. The controls are fairly easy. You use the right analog to aim and R2 is to shoot. It's a pretty intuitive control scheme.
The story goes on for about 7-10 hours depending on if you choose to complete each level quickly or you can take more time and actually collect relics/items which can upgrade your characters stats/abilities. But even if you beat the game once, you might as well go back and complete all the tasks you missed out on, on the first playthrough and you can unlock extra costumes for Lara.
I'd say it's worth the 15$ price tag on the PSN. It's a fun game to play with friends and it's fun if you play it on your own.
