L.A. Noire User Review
- Difficulty:
- Just Right
- Time Spent:
- 40 to 100 Hours
- The Bottom Line:
- "Ambitious"
La Noire is nothing like Grand Theft Auto, Mafia 2, Red Dead or even Sleeping Dogs, La Noire is heavy on story and you cant gun down pedestrians or go on wild street chases with the police because you are the police and its a hell of a lot of fun.
La Noire is set in 1940s Los Angeles aka as the city of angels and it looks fantastic the effort that has been put in to make this game look like it was set in the 1940s in quite astonishing, You play Detective Cole Phelps an ex GI in World War 2, the story flashes back after every case you solve revealing the story bit by bit.
The cases themselves are not difficult but there not east either, the interrogations are the hardest part of the game finding clues and inspecting them is simple enough but interviewing a suspect can be quite difficult as you have to read language, some are easy to read and some are not.
Car chases, shootouts and tailing are all done well although the shootouts could be more harder as its almost too easy to die by getting shot its not hard by any means and theirs rarely enough bad guys that surround you although its very fun to shoot people and hunt down car jackers and arrest them.
La Noire is a one of a kind game and their nothing on the market that is like it, if you like inverstigating murders car chases and the occasional shootout you cant go far wrong with La Noire.

Gaming goes classic Hollywood detective movie and wins. L.A. Noire brilliantly depicts that era.

In LA noire, you don't solve challenging cases, you point out the obvious.
