Kung Fu Kid will always hold a spot near and dear to my heart. While all the kids on the block were playing Nintendo my Dad bought me the Sega Master System. Three games were also under the tree that x-mas. One of them was Kung Fu Kid. Yeah it isn't Super Mario or Zelda but, to a 10 year-old kid it was more. Your basic plat-former with level bosses and what-not, Kung Fu Kid really isn't more than the norm from 8 bit consoles. What set it apart was what went down after everyone beat Super Mario on NES. Me being jealous of all the NES owners sat slumping with my SMS. Until my buddies came over and said "We beat Mario.....so bored." Well, in went Kung Fu Kid and the gang went crazy. We stayed up all-night until we beat that sucker. Afterward, one of my buds asked "Can I borrow your Sega? Which I replied even quicker "Can I borrow your NES?" The rest was as they say history.
