what kung fu chaos boils down to is a poorly constucted super smash brothers clone.

Kung Fu Chaos is microsoft's pitch at creating a multiplayer platformer similar to super smash brothers that was such a hit for nintendo. Needless to say, this game fell short of the glory it set out to acheive. KFC (ironic isnt it, kung fu chaos = KFC) is a poorly built game. The levels are very similar, and with only 10 of them (compared to 30 in SSBM) you wil be bored nearly instantly. The levels are small and simple designs with landmarks like platforms and destructable and moving terrain. The areas offer some variety with objects like pillars you can stand on and a fan you can spin to hit players, but this is generally only worth a once through. You get to pick from 10 characters and each has a unique special ability but generally the same attack power and what not. Technically speaking the game isnt remarkable, the graphics are decent and the sound is ok, but not good enough to save this game. There were 2 things the game really nailed: theme and extra value. starting with theme, the sound and images and levels and characters display the 80's kung fu movie craze quite well and intern give a rewarding if only short lived experience. Now for extra value: whenever you finish a match, you can save the replay shot from cool angles that make it look a movie of you schooling your friend, this is undoubtably cool, but once again, the game lacks so much else that this is only a good idea lost in a sea of bad ideas. Overall: rent it for a roudy party otherwise just forget it.
