A great platformer that most haven't even heard of.

Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil is a great 2D/3D platformer for the PS2. It's a shame that it didn't get much attention because it's a fun game. The graphics are cel shaded and the character models and backgrounds are 3D but the game is played in 2D. The game actually looks pretty good and it also has a nice soundtrack. The only downfall is in the presentation is the voice acting which isn't very good. Klonoa 2 does a have story but you won't really care about as it''s very average and not very original. The fun with this game is all in the gameplay. The levels are great as you will have to put your jumping and grabbing skills to the test. All of Klonoa's abilities are done by grabbing certain enemies, double jumps, throwing, hovering, etc. Most of the puzzles and enemies are also taken by grabbing and throwing enemies which sounds repetitive but the levels themselves have great design and variety. Most of the levels are platforming stages while some hoverboard and bosses are thrown in to mix things up a little. The controls are easy to learn and the levels are fun to go through but chances are you won't feel challenged very often. None of the baddies give you too much trouble and all the puzzles are very simple. And while you'll have fun you'll wish the game was longer when you finish which took me about 7 hours. Klonoa 2 is a great game which could have been even more if there was more challenge and length to it.
