A true classic. If you see it, buy it.

"Underappreciated" pretty much says it all, and I have a bone to pick with my fellow gamers. This is a sequel to a game on the PS1 that was also underappreciated, and thus Klonoa was not a known name by the time this came out. Now, what pisses me off is how little this game sold in the US, despite it's high quality, when countless GTA, Final Fantasy, and Zelda games sell countless amounts on the name alone. Now, don't get me wrong , those three series are good, but ever thought about buying something good, whether or not it's the tried and true?

The gameplay is very unique. You don't just go right while you kill enemies to reach the end of the level. Instead, You actually use a magic ring of sorts that you use to grab enemies to use in completing puzzles and platforming segments. Many enemies will have different uses when you grab them, usually because this game is heavily puzzle infused. Everything is very fun and fuses together real nice. I give the gameplay an 8/10.

The graphics, although not the best from a technical stand point, reek of style and originality. You will probably not see anything else quite like this in a game again. I give the graphics an 8/10.

The sound is pretty good and fits nicely, but isn't exactly something you'll be humming after you power the PS2. I give the Sound an 7/10.

Now, something I'd like to point before I finish this review is the immersion and story. These two things, more than anything else in the game, is what truly makes this game so great. This is a buy, if you can find it.
